I Need Help.
Okay… so at the prodding of a very good friend, I’m doing something that I have only done once before due to a sickening amount of desperation. I’m asking for help, from you, a community of wonderful people I’d like to call my internet family because, well, I don’t have anywhere…
So as some of you may know, Janet Varney, the voice actor for Korra, has a podcast that she does, and this is the most recent episode. I normally wouldn’t post it since it’s not Korra-centric per say, but I have a few things to say about this. I took the first 45 seconds.
- She seems like the sweetest, most good-natured person.
- As soon as it began, I was like… yep. I’m never going to hear her as anything other than Korra from now on. Not to the degree of Dante Basco (hell, you hear his voice and you wanna cover up one eye and go HONORRRRR), but still. It’s pretty distinctive to me now.
So yeah, just listen to like 15 seconds of it. I just love her and her voice.
God Grace just start a Janet Varney appreciation tumblr and get it over withI SPIT OUT MY DRINK WHEN I LISTED TO THIS OH MY GOD KORRA.
KORRA.
I CAN’T
Urghhh, it won’t play for me. :( Reblogging for followers.
Here’s the song from the Brave TV spot! Thank you kind person on yahoo answers who knew who the artist was :)
Tha Mo Ghaol Air Àird A’ Chuain, by Julie Fowlis.
Now in the TV spot there are only four lines from the song, so according to the lyrics + translation found here, this is what we hear:
Feasgar ciùin an tùs a’ Chèitein
Dlùth do rìbinn donn nam blàth-shul
Siab do dheòir, do ghaol tha sàbhailt
Thill mi slàn bhàrr àird a’ chuainand this is what it apparently means: (though it doesn’t make much sense)
On a quiet evening at the beginning of May
Nearer to the brown-haired maiden of the warm eyes
Wipe your eyes, your love is safe
I have returned to you from the high seasCould someone who speaks Scottish Gaelic confirm this? ^^

This has got to be one of the MOST incredible things I have ever set my eyeballs on…if you don’t watch this you are a fool.
Aaaaaaaand yes, my mind is blown. That’s dedication to one project I say :)
This was just so freaking fantastic, I cried. Beautiful voice, immense amount of talent, and gorgeous to boot. I’m in a glass case of emotion, guys. Also I pretty much hate myself because this is something I’ve been dying to do but I have my voice and have zero self-confidence.Oh my god I’m sobbing my entire face off.
This is so nostalgic. I can’t believe how old I am. Remembering all of these from my childhood….ugh my feels are out of control.
GUYS GUY, I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING
I CAN’T FUCKING WAIT FOR KORRA TO GO AVATAR STATE
My genetic theory behind bending in Avatar.
CAUTION: This may cause extreme confusion to the simple minded. I make a lot of these for work and I’m ashamed to say that they have the same personality in narration.
Part 3 coming soon
What do you think?
I really like this scene. My original interpretation of Tenzin, internally, was that he was going to be someone that would show little affection towards Korra—and in return, Korra would show little interest or respect towards him. However, those thoughts were wiped away from this exchange. Tenzin seems happy to see Korra, and if you listen to his tone, even a little proud. Korra appears to be an eager student, and displays a fair amount of care for him.
Toza: “Eh, I don’t care what you are, I got work to do!”
*points to tag* THIS!!!
So true.
“Gilderoy- please stop embarrassing yourself”
